Introduction

Following up on the success of their first toned-down Android tablet, Amazon has fielded the Kindle Fire HD with an updated screen and operating system. While it does offer a great bargain for beginner tablet users, it does have some serious shortcomings in the software department. Because our review process is ongoing, please check back periodically as we put this tablet through its paces in the lab in regards to battery tests.
